2-11-26    THOUGHTS

Three passages to strengthen us this morning.  God is faithful and in charge!  Some things God will do:  establish, guard, direct, not allow, provide the way, draw near!  The second part of Jas 4:8 tells us how to accomplish the first part!  We must devote our all to drawing near to our God!   God’s “PRESENCE THAT WE PRACTICE”,  IS NEARNESS TO GOD!  

2Thes 3:3-5 ESV   But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.  4  And we have confidence in the Lord about you, that you are doing and will do the things that  we command.  5  May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ.
1Cor 10:13   No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.
Jas 4:8   Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Our Prayer:
O Lord God, direct our hearts to Your love and steadfastness in Christ.  Guide us to pure hearts, minds and souls.  Keep us from the distractions of this world and of the self.  Teach us that love does not seek its own. May our love for self die as we see Your awesome love, O God!  We thank You for being our God, and we lift You up on high with thanksgiving.   In the name of Jesus  Amen!
